Built by a grandson, so it isn’t forgotten.
This site gathers everything that survives about Clifford and Mary Dunn, Savemore Stores and Clifford Dunn Supermarkets — family papers, trade journals, newspaper cuttings and the memories of the people of Hull — and sets it down as a lasting record.

The developer
James Smith is Clifford and Mary’s grandson. He researched, designed and built this archive as a museum site to the Savemore Stores and Clifford Dunn Supermarkets legacy.

Every fact on this site is linked to a source in the Archive. Where something is uncertain it is marked as being researched, and dates marked “c.” are estimates. Photographs are credited to their original publishers where known and possible.
